Worst Bed Bugs in Toronto
Sickening Bed Bug Infestation
The pictures I have posted below are going to scare you and may even make you sick to your stomach. You are going to wonder how anyone could possibly live in this environment. What was management doing? How did Bed Bugs Dead Bugs become involved and what would lead to someone to live with a serious bed bug infestation in Toronto, where we have such strict landlord and tenant regulations regarding pest control in Toronto.
Often, we like to blame management for not taking action or trying to be cheap. In this case, management took great pride in running an establishment free of bed bugs and other pests. They had been trying for over a year to gain access to this unit to treat it for bed bugs. Previous attempts to kill bed bugs with pesticides were futile and management reached out to us as their last hope to eradicate the bed bugs with heat. Bed Bugs Dead Bugs was called to coordinate a date where the landlord would arrange an excursion for the tenants while the room was treated. However, the tenants made it impossible as they refused to leave the unit, going to such lengths as to answer the door naked to deter entry. Often, mental health and addiction issues can play a part in an infestation of this magnitude. It was only after the tenants were hospitalized that the landlord was able to access the unit to perform the heat treatment.
This is one of the most serious bed bug infestations anyone might witness in the Toronto area. I cannot describe the smell, only to say it was overwhelming and permeated my clothes and skin. You can see from the photo where the TV Cable enters the wall, the bed bugs are clustered around it and making their way to other units through the walls. We can also see where the bugs nested under furniture that was removed. The corners of the walls and ceilings are heavily infested as the bugs search for a new home. I usually tell people that bed bugs do not like to live in the bathroom because it is cold and damp. Bed bugs like warm and cozy. When an infestation reaches epic proportions, the bed bugs will nest anywhere they can, including the bathroom.
After heat treating the room for over 12 hours, Bed Bugs Dead Bugs is happy to report that the bed bug infestation in this room has been decimated. However, with an infestation of this nature, the odor from the bugs will have permeated the wood floor and plaster walls, making it unlivable. The room will have to be completely demolished; walls and floors will have to be ripped out and replaced.
Bed Bug infestations like this in Toronto are few and far between. Bed Bugs Dead Bugs was there to help management as well as other tenants heat treat their units and live comfortably.
