Alternate Ways to Heat Bed Bugs
I received a really great post about alternate ways of heating bed bugs to kill them. The three ways suggested were: Microwave, Hair Dryer and Steam.
It was suggested to me that you can heat up bed bugs by sticking clothes and sheets in the microwave. I bet that will work. In fact, as soon as I collect the next live bed bug, I am going to do exactly that. Nuke that little bug in the microwave.
It was also suggested that you get down on your hands and knees with your hair dryer and blast them with hot air. Yep, that’s going to kill some of them too, but it take 7 minutes to kill a bed bug at 45C. You are probably going to be pretty tired by the time you finish using the hair dryer on your carpeting, bed frame and mattress. Not to mention, a hair dryer can also burn your furniture and carpeting if you get too close or leave it there too long.
A clothes steamer is an excellent addition to your bed bug eradication regime, but once again, the steamer can damage furniture if you leave it in once place for too long.
Save yourself a whole lot of back breaking work and trips to the microwave by renting our equipment.
Bed Bugs Dead Bugs to the rescue.
